Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Platter macOS application and the Platter website (together, the "Service"). Platter is a product operated by Lumetri Media Solutions LTD, a private limited company registered in Cyprus with the Department of the Registrar of Companies under registration number HE 458548, with its registered office at Gladstonos 1, Panayioteio Megaro, Floor 2, Office 205, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus (VAT/UID CY60080237P) ("we", "us"). By creating an account, purchasing a licence, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Platter is a desktop application that catalogues, searches, and helps organise your external storage drives. Some features ("Pro") are provided on a subscription basis, including cloud sync, NAS scanning, automatic re-scanning, AI-assisted organisation, and mobile web access to your catalogue.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, to use the Service. You may sign in with email and password or with a third-party identity provider (e.g. Google).
3. Licences, plans and payment
- Base — a one-time purchase (€9.99) granting a perpetual licence to the then-current major version of the desktop app.
- Pro — a recurring subscription (€4.99 / month) granting Pro features for as long as the subscription is active.
- Free trial — Base includes a 2-day free trial. A payment method is required to start it; if you do not cancel during the trial, you are automatically charged the one-time €9.99 Base price when the trial ends. You can cancel anytime during the trial at no charge.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details. Prices are shown in euros and may include applicable taxes. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel at any time from your account's billing portal, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
4. Right of withdrawal & refunds
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases. By starting to download or use the licensed software you may be asked to consent to immediate performance, which can end the withdrawal right for that purchase. Subscription payments already incurred are generally non-refundable, but we will handle refund requests fairly and in line with applicable law. Contact us at the address below.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including: reverse engineering except as permitted by law; reselling or sublicensing without authorisation; attempting to bypass licensing or access controls; or using the Service to store or process unlawful content.
6. Your data & AI features
Platter catalogues metadata about your files (names, paths, sizes, types) to power offline search and organisation. AI features send relevant context to our AI provider to generate suggestions. See our Privacy Policy for details on what is processed and how.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service in accordance with your plan. Your files and your catalogue data remain yours.
8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. Platter is a catalogue and organisation tool and is not a backup service; you are responsible for maintaining backups of your data. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. Perpetual Base licences survive termination of any subscription.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified via the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law & contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus (EU), without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Questions or notices may be sent to Lumetri Media Solutions LTD, Gladstonos 1, Panayioteio Megaro, Floor 2, Office 205, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus, or by email to bolinger@lumetri-media.com.
